About

Hello and a warm welcome to Yoga For Movement.  My name is Linda, and I love teaching gentle therapeutic style Yoga in Wirksworth, Matlock, Derbyshire.

I had been practicing Yoga for over 20 years. Having suffered with a painful debilitating inflammatory condition I found Yoga to be an essential part of my pain management and wonderful for helping me to calm my emotions and bring greater wellbeing into my life.

Just 8 months after major pelvic surgery I decided to take a leap of faith and begin training to become a Hatha Yoga Teacher. I could not have imagined what a challenging and amazing healing journey of self-transformation it would be. It has been a wonderful life changing experience and I love sharing my knowledge to help others to experience their own ‘feel good’ Yoga practice.

My ‘flow with your breath’(move with your breath at your pace)  gentle Hatha therapeutic style Yoga is suitable for all including absolute beginners and those with limited mobility. Everyone can enjoy their yoga practice!

We begin classes with a Breathing practice (Pranayama) to help bring your focus inwards and help calm the body and mind. Then guide through flowing Yoga postures (Asana) with attention to safe alignment to help you build strength, flexibility and balance for wellness. Blocks and Blankets then help you to feel supported in Restorative postures to balance your energies and calm your mind. At the end of the class you’ll benefit from a deeply relaxing Guided Meditation to find your inner peace and serenity.

With a background in Higher Education at The Open University, I loved supporting adults with disabilities for 9 1/2 years of my working career in Disabled Student Services. I moved to beautiful Derbyshire, with the intention to lead a healthier and more balanced lifestyle and wanted to continue to help others to improve their quality of life. Yoga enables me to deal calmly and confidently with daily situations, and bring energy and vitality.

I am passionate about Yoga and love to share the many benefits of this practice for physical and emotional wellbeing with you.

 Warmest wishes Linda 🙂
